Drifting down the river
of love and laughter with you,
so soft are the moments shared,
life was so real and true...
Though all alone now...
I still feel all that is gone;
with time, so quickly passing
my heart only sings a forgotten song.
Swaying to an unheard rhythm
eyes closed tightly...trying
to remember the feel of your embrace,
but your face now also fading.
You're gone and I'm wandering
inside this world so dark
looking everywhere for a sign,
anywhere for that remembered spark.
Light over the horizon
drifts slowly into sight
heart skips a beat...
finally.....a new delight!
